DUNCAN HOOSON
ABOUT
Duncan Hooson Ceramics

Born Stoke-on-Trent, 1959
Trained: Bristol BA (1st Class)1983; Cardiff MA 1985

I produce work mainly to public or private commission and employ a wide range of ceramic techniques and scale - from high-relief murals to domestic and sculptural forms for internal or external locations.

I also work as artist-in-residence in schools, hospitals and on community projects and enjoy facilitating commissions that engage a wider public.

The pots I make are always wheel-thrown and are usually made of composites, as it’s the joining together and manipulation of clay that provides me with the satisfaction of the making process.

I teach ceramics at Morley College in London on non-vocational courses.
