Duncan was born and raised in Stoke-on-Trent. Trained at Bristol Polytechnic (BA Hons) and South Glamorgan Institute of Higher Education, Cardiff (MA), he has over 25 years experience of working within

a broad range of ceramic practice.

 

His father’s uncle, Roland Bott, founded The Longton New Art Pottery, which made the White Horse Whisky figure that advertised the product in every pub

nationally. His grandad was a clay-treader and his grandmother a fettler.
